OrthoAccel® Technologies, Inc., developers of the AcceleDent™ System, which is an acceleration device to reduce orthodontic treatment time, announced it has finalized an international distribution agreement with Blued’IS, a French orthodontic supply company, to introduce the AcceleDent™ System to France and other countries within Continental Europe.
AcceleDent™ is a removable appliance, similar to a retainer, into which the patient bites.  The premise is remarkably simple.  Rather than using only the constant pressure applied by traditional braces, AcceleDent™ enhances the local bone biology with low frequency pulsation to the teeth.  The patient uses the appliance once daily, for twenty minutes. Patients are able to carry out most routine daily tasks during the twenty minute activation period.  Most importantly, AcceleDent™ is designed to work with all existing brackets as well as clear aligners.
OrthoAccel® has recently completed a pivotal clinical trial in the United States.  Analysis of the data has yielded results that exceeded expectations: daily use of AcceleDent™ safely increases the rate of tooth movement by 38 – 50% without increasing the risk of root resorption. The company also continues to hear positive feedback from patients, doctors, and other partners as it relates to clinical results and a positive device experience.
