Houston, TX, February 9, 2012 – OrthoAccel® Technologies, Inc., developers of the AcceleDent™ System, which is an acceleration device to enhance orthodontics, announced a new Vice President of Professional Relations this week: Art Basehart. Mr. Basehart began effective February 1, 2012 and is overseeing the key accounts and strategic relationships function at OrthoAccel®.
AcceleDent™ is a simple, removable and non-invasive device that a patient uses with braces in the mouth for 20 minutes daily to accelerate orthodontic tooth movement. The Company announced FDA clearance late last year. A randomized, controlled clinical trialconducted at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio demonstrated, with statistical significance, that tooth movement could be accelerated by 106% during the alignment phase and by 38% to 50% during space closure. There was no evidence of incremental root resorption or adverse events, thus demonstrating an excellent safety profile for the appliance.
Mr. Basehart joins OrthoAccel® as it carries out its launch of the AcceleDent™ System into the US market, bringing 28 years of industry experience to the OrthoAccel® team. His background includes 26 years with a market leader orthodontics business of the dental division of a Fortune 100 company. The past 2 years have been spent with a privately owned, rapidly growing orthodontic company. His highlight assignment there involved the North American launch of an innovative new customized lingual treatment system.

Last month, the Company reported significant interest around its AcceleDent™ System at the joint American Association of Orthodontists & American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry 2012 Mid-Winter Meeting held in Marco Island, Florida.
