OrthoAccel® Technologies, Inc. has developed an exciting new device for straightening teeth with orthodontics – the AcceleDent™ System. It is designed to significantly reduce treatment duration for wearing braces.

The device is designed to work complementarily with all existing orthodontic technologies … that means both brackets and clear aligners.

AcceleDent™ uses the application of cyclic forces (sometimes described as “pulsing” or “vibratory” forces) in combination with standard orthodontics to move teeth in bone faster through accelerated bone remodeling.

Scientifically, the technology is very similar to medical applications seen in other parts of the body, for example vibration to accelerate fracture healing in long bones.

AcceleDent™ is a removable device, similar to a retainer, into which the patient bites. The premise is remarkably simple. Traditional braces apply steady force. Rather than using only constant pressure, AcceleDent™ enhances the biology with low frequency pulsation to the teeth. The patient bites into the device once daily, for twenty minutes.

Patients should be able to carry out most routine daily tasks during the twenty minute activation period. Most importantly, AcceleDent™ is designed to work with all existing brackets as well as clear aligners – it’s a true complement to orthodontics. Patients and orthodontists both win!
